中國大陸H7N9流感疫情頻傳，國內發生多起H5N6高病原性禽流感疫情，高雄市亦在二月四日出現首例境外移入H7N9病例，疫情一觸即發。高市府為表達對抗禽流感的決心，提前做好防疫整備，於昨（十五）日在市府四維行政中心召開「一○六年度第一次禽流感跨局處整備會議」，研商相關因應作為。
主席林英斌副秘書長會中指示，市府防疫團隊即日起啟動跨局處分工，配合中央「跨部會及地方合作」、「邊境檢疫與疫情監測」、「檢驗量能與防疫知能強化」及「民眾溝通及衛教」四大重點防疫工作，並特別要求農業局建立高雄市養禽場名冊，排定各禽場清查及消毒行程，確實輔導並協助業者落實環境整備工作，以嚴防病毒入侵。衛生局呼籲，目前國內發生多起H5N6禽類養殖場感染案例，且中國大陸仍處H7N9流感高峰期，造成台灣禽流感防疫的嚴重威脅，即使有接種過流感疫苗，無論是當地台商或是計劃前往該地區的民眾仍不可掉以輕心。
瓜地馬拉總統莫拉雷斯(Jimmy Morales)16日駁斥可能發生政變的傳聞。莫拉雷斯的哥哥和長子因為詐欺弊案被裁決軟禁，接受調查。
針對逐漸形成的政變傳聞，莫拉雷斯在總統府一場活動中表示：「我是經由民主選舉產生的，如果有必要，也必須是經由民主程序交出政權。」莫拉雷斯並未多做說明。
今年47歲、喜劇演員出身的莫拉雷斯，在去年上任。他是以打擊貪污的訴求，贏得總統大選。
去年9月，法官裁定禁止莫拉雷斯的哥哥山米(Samuel "Sammy" Morales)和長子曼紐(Jose Manuel Morales)出境，必須接受調查。因為他們牽涉了一起金錢弊案。但兩人都否認不法。
此外，退役將領歐佛雷(Edgar Ovalle)正面臨1983年、擔任情報頭子期間，5人被失蹤案的調查。由於歐佛雷斯是執政黨「國家聚合陣線」(National Convergence Front, FCN)的國會議員，這兩個事件都打擊了莫拉雷斯的支持度。
根據調查，莫拉雷斯在2016年1月剛上任時，支持度高達71%。上個月的支持度已經下降至56%。
瓜地馬拉上一次發生政變是在1983年，當時的獨裁者蒙特提(Efrain Rios Montt)遭推翻。1993年前總統索拉諾(Jorge Serrano)企圖解散國會和司法系統，結果在隔天被迫下台，流亡巴拿馬。
